Fluora English Academy ("Fluora", "we", "us") operates the website at fluoraenglish.com and provides online English language tuition to adult learners worldwide. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the personal information necessary to provide our services. This typically includes:
- Your name, email address and (optionally) phone number when you book a trial lesson, enrol in a course, or contact us.
- Information about your English level, learning goals and preferences, gathered during your diagnostic.
- Billing details for paid courses. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Anonymous, aggregated website analytics (visits, country, device type). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
2. How we use it
Your information is used to provide the services you request: arranging lessons, building your study plan, sending you written progress reports, issuing invoices and answering your questions. Marketing emails are sent only with your explicit consent and can be unsubscribed from in one click.
3. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share information only with the third parties we need to operate: our payment processor, our transactional email provider, and our accountancy software. All such providers are bound by data-processing agreements appropriate to the applicable jurisdiction.
4. Retention
Student records (including study plans and progress reports) are kept for as long as you remain a student plus three years thereafter. Invoices are kept for seven years for tax purposes. Email enquiries that do not lead to enrolment are deleted after twelve months.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have additional rights under the GDPR (Europe), the CCPA (California) or comparable laws elsewhere. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within thirty days.
6. Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies to remember your consent choices and to gather anonymous analytics. You can decline non-essential cookies via the banner on your first visit, or clear them in your browser at any time.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage, restricted access to records and regular security reviews. No system is ever entirely secure; in the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your information, we will inform affected students promptly as required by applicable law.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to active students. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest revision.
